SMART APJ KALAM WITH AUTHOR SUJATHA

Sujathoughts of vikatan publicationsWhen APJ had to say cheers with vodka…..Some years back some Russians had come to hyderabad to discuss a deal. When they were leaving they had arranged for a dinner party at a five star hotel. Author sujatha also accompanied APJ to the party. Since the deal was through, in their happiness one of the Russian scientist handed over a glass of vodka to APJ. Kalam. APJ was not only a pure vegetarian but also had nothing to do with alcoholic drinks. The Russians were not English friendly and it would have been difficult to explain to them.. Kalam was in a fix. He would have to keep up the party spirit. Kalam had this to say to sujatha….this drink looks just like water. You go inside and get water in a glass like this. Sujatha went and got a glass of water to replace vodka. And kalam happily said ```cheers’’ to the Russian scientists.Author sujatha and our former president APJ studied together at st josephs trichy and thereafter at MIT.

Thoughts to share - Dr. Abdul Kalam , President, The Republic of India
"I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India. You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation. Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance. Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don't work; the railways are a joke, The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name...YOURS. Give him a face...YOURS.
YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. - In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground Links as they are. You pay $5(approx. Rs.60) to drive through Orchard Road(equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU comeback to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over-stayed, identity. In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan,in Dubai. YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds(Rs.650) a month to, "see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else."YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, "Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand. Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston????? We are still talking of the same YOU.YOU can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch the Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India? Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal Commissioner of Bombay, Mr.Tinaikar, had a point to make. "Rich people's dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place," he said. "And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan. Will the Indian citizen do that here?" He's right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pickup a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms. We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity. This applies even to the staff that is known not to pass on the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? "It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my son's rights to a dowry.
"So who's going to change the system? What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and The government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr. Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.
Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. - When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. - When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.
Dear Indians, the article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too?.. I am echoing J.F. Kennedy's words to his fellow American to relate to Indians?. "ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY" Let's do what India needs from us.Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending Jokes or junk mails.
Thank You, Yours'Dr. Abdul Kalaam

A Quick look of Dhirubhai Ambani Story - A man with a Silver heart

Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani, one of the leading Indian businessmen, was born on December 28, 1932 in Chorwad, Gujarat. Popularly known as Dhirubhai Ambani, he heads The Reliance Industries, India's largest private enterprise.Dhirubhai started off as a small time worker with Arab merchants in the 1950s and moved to Mumbai in 1958 to start his own business in spices. After making modest profits, he moved into textiles and opened his mill near Ahmedabad. Dhirubhai founded Reliance Industries in 1958. After that it was a saga of expansions and successes.Reliance, acknowledged as one of the best-run companies in the world has various sectors like petrochemicals, textiles and is involved in the production of crude oil and gas, to polyester and polymer products. The companies refinery at Jamnagar accounts for over 25% of India's total refining capacity and their plant at Hazira is the biggest chemical complex in India. The company has further diversified into Telecom, Insurance and Internet Businesses, the Power Sector and so on. Now the Reliance group with over 85,000 employees provides almost 5% of the Central Government's total revenue.Dhirubhai has been one among the select Forbes billionaires and has also figured in the Sunday Times list of top 50 businessmen in Asia. His industrious nature and willingness to take on any risk has made him what he is. In 1986 after a heart attack he has handed over his empire to his two sons Anil and Mukesh. His sons are carrying on the successful tradition of their illustrious father.
Early life
'Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani' was born on 28 December 1932, at Chorwad, Junagadh in the state of Gujarat, India, into a Modh family of very moderate means. He was the second son of a school teacher. When he was 16 years old, he moved to Aden, Yemen. Initially, Dhirubhai worked as a dispatch clerk with A. Besse & Co. Two years later A. Besse & Co. became the distributors for Shell products and Dhirubhai was promoted to manage the company’s oil-filling station at the port of Aden.He was married to Kokilaben and had two sons and two daughters. He also worked in Dubai for some time during his early years.
Life in Aden
Kokilaben and Dhirubhai Ambani, In the 1950s, the Yemini administration realized that their main unit of currency, the Rial, was disappearing fast. Upon launching an investigation, they realized that a lot of Rials were being routed to the Port City of Aden. It was found that a young man in his twenties was placing unlimited buy orders for Yemini Rials.During those days, the Yemini Rial was made of pure silver coins and was in much demand at the London Bullion Exchange. Young Dhirubhai bought the Rials, melted them into pure silver and sold it to the bullion traders in London. During the latter part of his life, while talking to reporters, it is believed that he said “The margins were small but it was money for jam. After three months, it was stopped. But I made a few lakhs. In short, I was a manipulator. A very good manipulator. But I don’t believe in not taking opportunities.
Reliance Commercial Corporation
Ten years later, Dhirubai returned to India and started the Reliance Commercial Corporation with a capital of Rs. 15,000.00. The primary business of Reliance Commercial Corporation was to import polyester yarn and export spices. The business was setup in partnership with Champaklal Damani, his second cousin, who used to be with him in Aden, Yemen. The first office of the Reliance Commercial Corporation was set up at the Narsinathan Street in Masjid Bunder. It was a 350 Sq. Ft. room with a telephone, one table and three chairs. Initially, they had two assistants to help them with their business. In 1965, Champaklal Damani and Dhirubhai Ambani ended their partnership and Dhirubhai started on his own. It is believed that both had different temperaments and a different take on how to conduct business. While Mr. Damani was a cautious trader and did not believe in building yarn inventories, Dhirubhai was a known risk taker and he considered that building inventories, anticipating a price rise, and making profits through that was good for growth.During this period, Dhirubhai and his family used to stay in an one bedroom apartment at the Jaihind Estate in Bhuleshwar. Mumbai. In 1968, he moved to an up market apartment at Altamount Road in South Mumbai.
Reliance Textiles
Sensing a good opportunity in the textile business, Dhirubhai started his first textile mill at Naroda, near Ahmedabad in the year 1966. Textiles were manufactured using polyester fibre yarn. Dhirubhai started the brand "Vimal", which was named after his elder brother Ramaniklal Ambani's son, Vimal Ambani. Extensive marketing of the brand "Vimal" in the interiors of India made it a household name. Franchise retail outlets were started and they used to sell "only Vimal" brand of textiles. In the year 1975, a Technical team from the World Bank visited the Reliance Textiles' Manufacturing unit. This unit has the rare distinction of being certified as "excellent even by developed country standards" during that period.
Death
Dhirubhai Ambani was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on June 24, 2002 after he suffered a major "brain stroke". This was his second stroke, the first one had occurred in February 1986 and had kept his right hand paralyzed. He was in a state of coma for more than a week. A battery of doctors were unable to save his life. He breathed his last on July 6, 2002, at around 11:50 P.M. (Indian Standard Time). His funeral procession was not only attended by business people, politicians and celebrities but also by thousands of ordinary people. His elder son, Mukesh Ambani, performed the last rites as per Hindu traditions. He was cremated at the Chandanwadi Crematorium in Mumbai at around 4:30 PM (Indian Standard Time) on July 7, 2002.He is survived by Kokilaben Ambani, his wife, two sons, Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, and two daughters, Nina Kothari and Deepti Salgaocar.Dhirubhai Ambani started his long journey in Bombay from the Mulji-Jetha Textile Market, where he started as a small-trader. As a mark of respect to this great businessman, The Mumbai Textile Merchants' decided to keep the market closed on July 8, 2002. At the time of Dhirubhai's death, Reliance Group had a gross turnover of Rs. 75,000 Crore or USD $ 15 Billion. In 1976-77, the Reliance group had an annual turnover of Rs 70 crore and Dhirubhai had started the business with Rs.15,000.

10 GUIDELINES TO LIVE AND SUCCEED IN LIFE

Many have learnt that only a calm mind, can let the creative things to happen. The cutting sharp example is Newton's theory of gravitational force. Now Sri bhagvan explains how one can free from stress and do their work effectively and creatively. In short his discpline's calls this note as a 10 Guidelines from god, here follws the way

10 Guidelines From God

God made the world in 6 days and now we expect him to always rush, rush, rushEffective Immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. Please, follow these 10 guidelines:

1. QUIT WORRYING: Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all... God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME:Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE:Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME: I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend.

6. HAVE FAITH: I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part - How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE: You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT: I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND: Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF: As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget.....

Message from Samadarshiniji - displine of sir bhagvan

Case study 1: The person has not put in enough hard work and the intent is not clear.
Before you fix a goal or a vision for yourself, question yourself why? Why do I have this intent? What is the propelling force behind your intent? Is it to gain stability, to have pleasure, to gain significance and love, is it to win acceptability or is it for growth and contribution? If the reasons are convincing and are more in number, then the inspiration will stand long. On the other hand if they are not, there is not sufficient fuel to push you forward.
Message from Samadarshiniji
Case study 1: The person has not put in enough hard work and the intent is not clear.
Before you fix a goal or a vision for yourself, question yourself why? Why do I have this intent? What is the propelling force behind your intent? Is it to gain stability, to have pleasure, to gain significance and love, is it to win acceptability or is it for growth and contribution? If the reasons are convincing and are more in number, then the inspiration will stand long. On the other hand if they are not, there is not sufficient fuel to push you forward.
Secondly, check the intent and see to it that it is realistic. Question yourself Is your intent realistic? Do you feel it is possible to get there if you invested your fullest efforts into it?
Next important thing is, people usually like to draw from the hard work they had put in the past. Having worked for 5 years, you got the results. But what about the results you want to create for the future?
It is like trying to draw money from an empty account, which was once fat. If you need the results now, you will need to work towards it and plan for it.Finally align yourself with the Higher Conscious.
Don't forget the mantra
'Intent + Effort + Grace = Success'
1. If you are clear with your intent, then systematically write down your plans as to how you are going to achieve it. Take a look at it every day. It will work wonders.
2. Before you begin your day's work, ask yourself am I prepared to put in the required effort today to reach my destination? At the end of the day, check whether you have executed your plans?
Case study 2:
The couple valued growth and contribution the most. When somebody is functioning from growth, they will not settle for mediocrity. They are moving onward, surging ahead. When you value growth and contribution and work towards it, all other needs are automatically fulfilled.
Your contributions reflect who you 'are' and every thing else is what you 'have'. That's the attitude of somebody functioning from the sixth level of consciousness.
This couple also has learnt the importance of creating personal relationships with their employees. They have learnt the art of infusing love into work.
Anybody who wants to be at the top has to be a 'great giver'. And if you have to be a great giver, you need to 'have' what you chose to give. To have much you need to 'learn'. To contribute more, you need to grow more and for that you need to learn more. That is why the mantra "Learn- grow- serve, Learn- grow- share, Learn- grow- contribute".
1. Identify your areas of growth and write them down. What is it you need to learn in order to grow in a particular area of life?
2. What is the need you seek most? For the coming 7 days, fulfill that need in a relationship that counts most. Ex: If your need is importance or love, then for 7 continuous days no matter what, give that love and importance to the other

Success Mantra Answer by Sri Bhagavan

Q) What is the easiest way to get your grace and how would you like your Bhakthas to be?
Answer by Sri Bhagavan: See, all that I want is, you have to just ask. When you ask you should not say simply – Bhagavan, Bhagavan…that is no use. How do you see Bhagavan - that is the question. Do you see him as a father or a brother or a friend or a son, whatever you want you have to put it in that framework and then there must be that actual feeling that you have towards your father and brother, know. The same feeling must be there. Thereafter it can either be a prayer or it can be an asking or a command, anything, that's not so important...

You might be very good people but if you don't have a bond you don't get it. So, bond is the secret, emotion should be there. When we say there is a bond, what we mean is there is emotion. Emotion is the telephone line between you and Bhagavan. If there is no emotion, the telephone line is cut. It doesn't work well."4 things to ask yourself before you can succeed.
State of mind: - This is the word I want you to ingrain into your consciousness before you start reading this article. We are the decisions we make, we are our attitudes and our ambitions - and how diluted these are, or how strong they are; are totally dependent on us. If you have lived through life tripping over your own failures that seem to come at you thick and thin, then it's time to stop and think. It's time to re-assess what you are doing and rewrite your life story so that you can let go of your failures. This article will outline 4 things to ask yourself before you can succeed.
Do you have a plan? Life is a strategy. Success is a road you must build yourself to punch through the thickening thickets of failures that seem to grow around you. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Are you happy where you are? What do you plan to do with your life right now that will ensure that you will be happier later on? Come on; it's time to stop floundering around, almost drowning in a sea of disappointment and start the first stroke to that palm tree island of serenity. Have a plan. Look at your finances, look at your relationships, look at yourself. If you are going astray then it's time to correct your course.
Is there something stopping you? Is a past experience or a fear making you hold back? Psychologists all over the world agree that the biggest inertia to succeed that afflicts a lot of people is bad experiences that affect them consciously or subconsciously. Bad experiences can shape our subconscious into the hammer that just keeps banging away at us. It's time to take control of your life and stop letting the past hold you down.
Is there a part of your life that is constantly holding you back? How creative are you in solving this problem yet still being buoyant in life? This is another way to assess your life. It could be your job that is slowly killing you or a 'so-called' friend that seems to always be bringing you down. Carve away at that section of your life and leave it behind. Then and only then can you move forward.
It's time to look at a newer you. It's time for a change. Are you ready for that change? Every little thing you do can help to shape the new man or woman. Gaining confidence has an effect like a tiny snowball down a sharp cliff. Once you get going you can't stop. Wear new clothes, smile more at people, smile at yourself in the mirror. A new you is symbolic both physically an mentally - and it is just the push in the right direction you need.
You are the most important person in the world and you cannot afford to hold on to your failures. Ask yourself this, who is the person that can help you most? The answer should be obvious.

FOUR FACTORS AND SUCESS TIPS OF BILL GATES

FOUR FACTOR’S OF SUCCESS AND THE WAY TO MOVE FORWARD,

A old proverb states that the Journey of a 1000 miles begin with a single step, similarly for the success journey the effort you put today is the assurance to reach the goal by an year or a limited time.

You may be heard from some of the books the difference between desire and the goal. Desire is like a leaf flying in the air, as many of us always stuck on this desire. Let’s say you want to become a CEO of a company, you say internally I want to become CEO and nothing much we plan. Whereas, when it comes to goal, it will have a proper plan out with some time lime. It is like a journey with a schedule, so that we can accelerate the speed according to the distance of the goal.

Let’s take live example - I am just highlighting how exactly he fixed a time line for his victory

At the age of fourteen Bill was confident that he could be a millionaire by thirty. All the way he worked hard is to achieve this target. So the point here is

· Your goal to be very clear with the timeline mentioned i.e within this year etc. for example you can say I WANT TO BE A CEO OF A SOFTWARE COMPANY WITHIN 5 YEARS

· This goal has to converted on yearly basis 1s year – reach manager stage 2nd year – GM 3rd year – director etc.

· This year targets further converted into monthly + weekly and day by day basis also.

Today if I ask you to travel 10000 KM means, no one say yes, since the thing itself makes impossible. When I say you travel 2 KM today then you say Okay. Similarly whatever it may be your goal take some steps today to reach over there by a year or XX years.
